Vocabulary Deceit/Deception - a deceit is a misleading falsehood. An act of deceiving.
Fabrication - Making something up deliberately. Writing in a fictional way.
Falsification - Altering data. Faking something.
Memoir - An account of the writer's own life and experiences.
Plagiarism - Using someone else's words and/or ideas as your own. (See other ethics module on plagiarism.)
