Core Values
The key values to be conveyed in these modules are: honesty; loyalty or fidelity to the truth; rationality (a commitment to acting with, and believing according to, good reasons) and objectivity (fairness, impartiality, accuracy) in discovering and reporting the facts; sense of personal and social responsibility in reporting on significant socio-political newsworthy events; courage (sometimes the job of seeking the truth can be dangerous, especially when one is reporting on a war or on illegal activities); the duty to think critically and for oneself -- independence of thought; commitment to the facts (rationality); perseverance and dedication to one's task (of discovering & reporting the Truth(s), which is not always an easy goal); integrity (being consistent with, and faithful to, one's ideals and core values) .
