Leggatt, Alexander. William Shakespeare's Macbeth: A Sourcebook. Routledge: Abingdon,Oxon, 2006. This sourcebook is perhaps the single most useful reference, with its own section on additional resources, etc.

Shakespeare, William. Macbeth. All references above from the Arden edition
Film versions of Macbeth from directors Trevor Nunn (1978), Roman Polanski (1971), Orson Welles (1948). One of the most acclaimed is the Japanese director Akira Kurosawa's version, Throne of Blood (1959).
The film The Last King of Scotland is also useful, in that it is a recent (2006) Oscar winning film that follows the tyranny of Idi Amin, which offers parallels to Macbeth.
